Composed entirely of stained ivory appliqué on painted glass. The scene comprising figures looking from doorways, smoking pipes, playing with children in sampans and seated about a small group of musicians listening attentively. All within a pavilion lake, tree and distant mountainous setting. Glazed wooden frame with metal hangings.
From an important German private collection, bought 1987 from Spink & Sons Ltd. London by the present owner
